About Calabria
Calabria can still amaze tourists and travellers with its 800km of sandy beaches bathed by two seas, it is lush in vegetation and tinged with a thousand jues and reflections from the sea. Abounding in archaeology, history, culture and folklore, it is hospitable and well equipped for the tourist. Its artistic heritage reflects the region’s historical vicissitudes and can be often found in Calabria’s small towns with their cultural life which dates back thousands of years to the glorious times of Magna Grecia. Its cuisine is natural and imaginative, and you can still find real traditional cooking almost everywhere. Try the home made ‘maccaruni’, home made pasta served with a meat sauce or ‘melanzane caponate’ – aubergines stuffed with anchovies or roasted with peppers. A region well worth visiting.
