There is no region along the length of the Apennines that is so uneven with respect to space, certainly none that has such majestic mountains and such marine beauty". This quotation by an Italian historian and economist, who loved this region and crossed the Lattari Mountains in 1877, is the perfect introduction for the Sorrento and Amalfi Coast, declared UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997. This part of Italy, where the mountains and the sea blend in perfect harmony, is unique for the natural environment and the geography, for the stunning views and the charming towns spread all along the coast.
Our self-catering accommodations, that include lovely apartments with shared pool and luxury villas with private pool, are the ideal option to enjoy an unforgettable holiday in this wonderful part of the Italian Peninsula. No matter if you choose a central apartment walking distance to restaurants and shops, or a luxury villa with stunning sea views: This experience will exceed your expectations!
The vibrant city of NAPLES is the capital of the region Campania and the third-largest municipality in Italy, after Rome and Milan. Over the course of its long history, Naples has been the capital of duchies and kingdoms, and has consistently been a major cultural centre with a global sphere of influence, particularly during the Renaissance and Enlightenment eras. The hidden treasures and the soul of the city will take you in, while exploring monuments, churches and museums during the day, or while taking an evening walk in its lively streets after a Pizza or a coffee.Among the wide choice of museums, do not miss the National Archaeological Museum that features one of the most extensive collections of artefacts of the Roman Empire and many of the antiques unearthed at Pompeii and Herculaneum, the two towns buried by mud and ash after the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in the year 79 A.D.
Near Naples, we offer two fantastic self-catering villas with private pool ideal for holiday rentals: Villa Alessandra and Villa Rosata, both very spacious and located in Pozzuoli, lively area on the Western point of the Gulf of Naples.
Once you move out from Naples towards South, you reach the Sorrento and Amalfi Coast, one of the most sought-after parts of Italy for villa holiday rentals. Most of our rental properties boast terraces and gardens with stunning sea views.
You can enjoy your holiday in one of our amazing villas with pool dotted along the coastline. Along this enchanting stretch of coast, you will find picturesque towns and fascinating fishing villages overlooking small sandy coves such as Sorrento, Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi, Massa Lubrense, Nerano, Positano, Ravello and Amalfi. These can be easily visited driving along the panoramic coastal road, the Amalfi Drive, while staying in our self-catering villas and apartments.
SORRENTO The best-know town on the Sorrentinian Peninsula is SORRENTO, a bustling centre with a delightful maze of small shops, cafés and restaurants that meander from the main square, Piazza Tasso, and are open throughout the year. Sorrento is ideal for a relaxing holiday in our centrally located apartments with pool, and it is an excellent starting point for exploring the whole peninsula and the archaeological sites. It is famous for its aromatic lemons too. For those who are looking for the gastronomic experience of tasting the fresh seafood and the locally brewed iced Limoncello, there is no finer place to be. When you choose our holiday accommodations for rental in Sorrento, the car is not essential. Should you land in Naples, you could take a shuttle bus or the Circumvesuviana train directly to Sorrento centre at a reasonable price. You will enjoy the peace of a lemon and orange grove while staying in our apartments The Lemon Grove; these two- and three-bedroom self-catering flats are perfectly located in the centre of the town and guests will share the nice garden with pool. Should you rather wish to be right by the sea with picturesque sea views, the apartments at Marina Grande are the best option for your stay. Among the selection of private villas with pool near Sorrento, please view the luxury Villa Agnello and the elegant Villa Sorrento, as well as Villa Priora and Villa Giove that boast stunning sea views and are located between Sorrento and Sant'Agata Sui Due Golfi.
Is a little village situated less than 10km from Sorrento, on a ridge above the Bay of Naples and the Gulf of Salerno, 390m above sea level. Both locals and tourists love this place because of the breathtaking and unique landscape between the Sorrento Coast and the Amalfi Coast. Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi is a good starting point for trips and hikes and it is also well-known for a gourmet restaurant, listed in the twelve Italy’s most famous restaurants and based exclusively on fresh South-Italian products.
We are proud to offer many excellent villas with private pool in Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi and in the neighboring town of MASSA LUBRENSE: Villa Galena and Villa Cuore for example boast sea views and a large pool, and yet they are at walking distance to the centre of the town. Worth considering is also Villa Soraia that offers a secluded and quiet accommodation right in the centre of Sant’Agata. Villa Mimosa is a lovely one-bedroom property ideal for a romantic break, while the self-catering apartments at Panorama Residence are perfect for families and groups of friends.
POSITANO Also called the Gem of the divine coast, is probably the most amazing village of the Amalfi Coast and will not fall short of your expectations for its incomparable beauty. It is positioned at the centre of the Gulf, with our self-catering apartments and villas built on terraces, amongst beautiful gardens planted with palm trees, orange and lemon groves. Positano has preserved its typical vertical structure and its bright architecture with suggestive corners and panoramic views. The dome-shaped architecture and the typical cubic houses give the place an oriental atmosphere. Positano can easily be reached by car or bus over one of the most panoramic coastal roads of the world. Behind each curve, a new panorama appears to the travellers. From here, you can take day excursions by boat to the enchanting Isle of Capri. Strolling along the charming steep alleys, meandering through the lanes with innumerable elegant boutiques, you will reach two little sandy beaches set in an inlet in the cliffs. You will also find plenty of restaurants and nightlife. In Positano, you can rent our luxury and central apartments with terrace and magnificent sea views, such as Casa Larissa and Casa Rosa, comfortable and quiet resorts like Positano Residence, and the elegant apartments with shared pool at Villa Tony, walking distance to a good restaurant.
Driving from Positano towards Amalfi, you will pass by two charming towns not yet discovered by mass tourism and recommended for their dramatic sea views. In PRAIANO, you will be taken in by the elegance of Villa Idrina, a bright and stylish 2-bedroom villa with private pool set in one of most panoramic areas of Praiano. In FURORE, an unspoiled village on the mountainside, we offer three recently restored apartments with shared pool and breathtaking sea views at Casa Mera.
Another enchanting town situated 350m above the sea level is RAVELLO, defined by a French writer a place "closer to heaven than it is to the shore". The wonderful hanging gardens of the 13th century Villa Rufolo and the charming San Pantaleone Cathedral have always delighted the visitors. Wagner, who sojourned there during the composition of his Parsifal, found in this paradise of peacefulness the inspiration for the second act of his work. In the summer months, daily concerts can be enjoyed in the magnificent setting of Ravello’s villas and palaces.
Stay at our Villa Antonietta - Concerto apartment and you will be able to enjoy the views and the concerts from the privacy of your private terrace. Many holiday makers have chosen this apartment to celebrate romantic occasions. Moreover, Ravello is an ideal starting point for keen walkers and nature lovers. In the centre, walking distance to its main square, we offer Sogno Apartment, the perfect one-bedroom apartment with shared pool and sea views to enjoy your holiday in this charming town.
AMALFI is set in a wide inlet in the mountain. Amalfi is a fascinating town rich in history and, like most of the towns in the area, is made of narrow streets, alleys and labyrinthic stairways in which the typical whitewashed houses are embedded. Amalfi was the first Sea Republic of Italy; do not forget to visit the IX century Cathedral dominating the main square with its black and white stone walls. Amalfi offers sandy beaches, good fish-based cuisine, lively cafés, and of course, beautiful accommodations for holiday rental too! Near Amalfi you can stay at Villa Lanterna and Villa Anna, tastefully decorated and with private pools. Should you rather wish to stay right in the heart of the town, the 2-bedroom apartment Alloro Apartment would be the ideal choice.
The FOOD in Naples and on the Sorrento and Amalfi Coast is glorious. Not only you will be able to enjoy the original Neapolitan Pizza Margherita, but also you will taste some of the best dishes and flavours of Southern Italy, like Spaghetti with clams and, for dessert, Struffoli (small fried dough balls), Roccoco (pastry with almonds) and the famous Pastiera, a cake made from boiled wheat, ricotta and candied lemon zest.
If you are visiting Naples in September and wish to experience the most famous religious feast of the region, do not miss the Miracle of San Gennaro. On 19th September, great excitement spreads in the Naples cathedral and in the crowded streets, as the blood of the beheaded San Gennaro liquefies in its ampoule. San Gennaro was a bishop beheaded during the Christians persecution in the 4th century A.D. According to the legend, a woman collected and kept some of the martyr’s blood in an ampoule and in 313 A.D. the miracle occurred for the first time. Nowadays, according to the local people, the miracle takes place only when no calamities or harmful events are expected in the near future. The absence of the miracle is a bad premonition for Naples and its surroundings. For instance, in 1980, the blood did not liquefy and two months later, a harsh earthquake hit the region. If you wish to experience a magic time in this peculiar part of Italy, consider visiting it in winter at Christmas time. Christmas in Sorrento is wonderful and the procession of baby Jesus, that takes place on Christmas Eve, ends in a spectacular firework display. There are also live performances of the nativity scene that the whole town gets involved in. The enchanting Neapolitan nativity scene deserves a word too, as in Naples, it has more significance than the Christmas tree. The nativity scene shows the everyday life of the local people and cannot be compared to the nativity scene known in North Italy, Germany or Austria. Of course, the traditional characters are there, but the locals play the main roles; for example, it is perfectly okay to place a farmer’s wife cooking spaghetti next to the three Wise Men.
For a sparkling New Year's Eve, do not miss Amalfi and its firework display.
"We spent a week in this gorgeous villa/apartment - Casa Irene. It was so
peaceful being slightly up in the hills away from the town and so benefitted,
not only from the most fantastic views but from a lovely breeze too which was
very welcome. The apartment was very comfortable with everything needed to make
a relaxing home from home holiday. There was masses of outdoor space both at the
pool side and private space accesssed from the apartment. We were able to walk
into Sorrento in 15 minutes and to a very good supermarket in 10 minutes. The
walk back is all uphill but only takes 20 minutes from town and we could always
cool off in the pool and enjoy the view! The roads along the Amalfii coast and
in and around Sorrento are narrow with tight corners and lots of scooters so if
hiring a car, we would recommend as small a car as you can get away with. We
loved our week and here and would not hesitate to recommend Casa Irene."
"Gillian, Casa Irene, July 2013"
" Hello, we had a good holiday at Casa Irene, the photos on the website actually do not do it justice! The property is larger than we expected and the terrace, pool area and furniture really are lovely with, of course, the most amazing view. The owner who lives underneath the property was very friendly (please can you say hello to her from us) and her and her son were very happy to help with anything (e.g. we couldn't get the lights to work on the terrace and they immediately called for an electrician). The bathroom needs updating but nevertheless we were very happy in the property and would revisit! The smaller property which my Dad rented for a week was really lovely, again with amazing views. Again, it was a larger property than we expected and nicely fitted out. The steps to the property were very steep and I think a handrail is needed to the top for health and safety reasons. I think it would be very useful to explain that a small car is necessary if you are going to stay in the property, unless extremely steep walks back home at the end of a lovely evening in Sorrento are part of the enjoyment of your holiday! My sentence - "Holiday bliss - watching the sun set over the Bay of Naples, toes in the pool, gin and tonic in the hand"."
"Kay, Casa Irene, August 2013"
"Thank you! Yes, we have arrived back home and we had lovely holiday in
Italy and at Casa Irene! We really enjoyed being there; the place is so beautiful and
such a great area. We had some difficulties to find the Casa Irene because
there was no sign about it but we made appointment by Hilton Sorrento Palace
and Michele showed a way to Casa Irene. We were a little bit surprised about that road to the Casa
Irene (so narrow) but most of the time we walked everywhere; luckily Sorrento
was so near! Casa Irene fulfilled our expectations; it was cosy and clean
and the swimming pool area was fantastic and the pool was big enough. It was great that there was the air-conditioning inside the
house! To the owner many thanks and couple suggestions: it would be
better to change the shower curtain and few shelves are so slanting that there
cant't keep anything. We did like the Old Town of Sorrento very much; there was
nice to walk around... And it was easy to visit Capri by boat and Pompei by
train. Ristorante Artis Domus and Foreigner's Club were very
pleasants places to have a dinner; space and seaview, good food but not
expensive.Maybe some day again to Sorrento....Many thanks to you and have a nice summer!"
"Tiina, July 2015"
"Thank you for granting the reimbursement on my credit card 25 euros... And Michela was a good key-holder/Host .... It's a shame the billiards table was broken buy past guests... I loved the pool area and outdoor TV ...Overall it was a great 8 nights and was a charming villa. Pleasure doing business with Italian breaks. Maybe In future I will plan another villa/trip through your company it was a good experience."
