«Yes, I have finally arrived to this Capital of the World! I now see all the dreams of my youth coming to life... Only in Rome is it possible to understand Rome».

“Rome was a poem pressed into service as a city.” – Anotole Broyard, American writer.

One of the most visited destinations in the world, Rome is home of la dolce vita, lots of art to overload your senses, decadent pasta and gelato to indulge in. Beside this, Rome stands as one of the finest and oldest cities in the world. The history of Rome spread over 2500 years and it has been a center of power, culture, politics and development since its beginning.

As time progressed, various buildings, palaces and monuments have been constructed in the city and these now stand as beautiful tourist attractions and a reminder of the glorious past of the city. Rome is ranked as one of the top tourist destinations in Europe and with tourist attractions such as the Colosseum, St. Peter’s Basilica, Vatican Museums, the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps, it is easy to see why.

How To Get There

It is said that all roads lead to Rome, so let’s find out how easy it is to arrive at Rome.

By plane – Rome has two international airports with over 40 million passengers passing through the city every year. If you live in Europe, it is now possible to visit the Italian capital for less than €50. Once you have your ticket and know which airport you land in, find out how to get to the center of Rome from Fiumicino Airport or Ciampino Airport.

By train – If you’re planning on discovering Italy and visiting other cities, the train is an excellent option to keep in mind. The high-speed trains, called Frecciarossa, connect Rome and Florence in a little over an hour and a half and to Milan in three hours. There are also other categories of trains called Frecciargento or Frecciabianca, which also connect Rome with most cities in the country, but are slower.
